If you are in Paris in the summer, try and go to one of the many festivals taking place around the city. There is something for everyone and when the sun is shining, they are a great way to enjoy the outdoors.

See a list here. Another great way to experience music here is the Fete de la Musique, a day where music of all genres takes over Paris- in its streets, its buildings and museums- on 21st June every year.

We recently went to Solidays festival. Admittedly, I didn’t know most of the bands, but I love a festival so was very up for it anyway. My highlight was Two Door Cinema Club who I had never seen live before. We didn’t camp because we live not too far away from the site in the Bois du Boulogne, so this meant we could really go for it where festival fashion and feeling fresh were concerned. Nothing better than your own bed and a proper shower to kick off a day of dancing to the tunes of the summer!

So here we are, Ann and I, in our three outfits for the three evenings we spent at Solidays.

Desk Day 3

Overheard today:

“Hello, thank you for calling Timico, how may I help?”

“I would like to order a carrier bag from the new catalogue”

“I think you may have the wrong number, we are an internet service provider…”

“You’ll have to speak up a bit, there are building works going on outside my house”

“We don’t sell carrier bags”

Office hoots with laughter

H&M Purchase

I have bought a LOT this summer. By becoming obsessed with charity shops and sales (no surprise there), I have grabbed some right bargains.

I recently shopped the H&M website with a free delivery code. I managed to get some multi-functional work trousers for £4 and a bright  summer top for £3.

My qualms with H&M are that the delivery is always slow and the sizing is completely off. I am a size 10 in Oasis jeans and a 14 in H&M jeans.

However, at the rock bottom prices and with free delivery, I can’t really complain.

Desk Day 1

This is the first day of my work experience with Timico, an Internet Service Provider based in Newark. http://www.timico.co.uk/ (quick plug)

Today I am researching the way businesses use social media . I’m spending my day on competitors’ Twitter feeds. Sneaky.

Had McDonald’s for lunch. Not doing that again, promise.

Wearing new £2 blazer with vintage blouse and Topshop high-waisted treggings.

Me sat at my desk in the marketing department.

Thank you Lois Wildman for rushing me into Dorothy Perkins for the ten minutes that we had left in town. I had never really been bothered by the shop since i bought some jeans from there in about Year 9, but it seems that their clothing has been revitalised! Their spring dresses were bursting with bold colour and floral prints, the shapes were gorgeous and after careful consideration (because we are only 16 and money doesn’t grow on trees) Lois bought two beautifully printed tops, of which i was very envious. Can’t wait for some warmer weather now!

P.s. The Peter Pan Collar is everywhere and i love it!

This year’s Red Nose Day campaign has been brought to life with Vivienne Westwood’s T-Shirt designs. They depict black and white images bearing a red nose, some of which include portraits of William Shakespeare and Blackadder. The T-shirts are available for all ages and genders and bring a sense of fun to the campaign, whilst also reminding us of its importance. While Sienna Miller is the face of the campaign, other celebrities include Mika, Nichola Roberts, Keane, James Cordon, Jensen Button and Mel C. The T-Shirts are only available from TKMaxx.
TKMaxx ahve also collaberated with Liberty Art Fabrics to produce some beautiful scarves and bags at £12.99 each, of whick £4 goes to charity. I think these will sell very well, what with the headscarf trend at the moment!

The clothes show live!!

I had an excellent time today at the clothes show in the the Birmingham NEC arena. Though it took a while to actually get there, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The highlight for me was the fashion show as it combined dance and music with fashion and the electric atmosphere made it immense. It also really inspired me to blog morewhen i saw someone recieve a prize for being a good young fashion journalist.
